Here is a selection of short videos that can give you a foothold for preaching the 10 readings on King David assigned by The Revised Common Lectionary for the summer of Year B. Written Reflections
This section begins with a reflection on how David handles the greatest crisis of his rule, the rebellion of his son Absalom (2 Samuel 12-19). His ambiguous charge to his troops, “Deal gently with Absalom,” carries immense importance for our own understanding of the nature of God and how God wants us to live. New articles may be added regularly; check back here frequently.
Personal Availability
I am also available as a guest preacher and teacher. I preached regularly in my 41 years under Conference appointment, and I taught preaching in the Wesley Seminary Course of Study and the Goodson Academy of Preaching for many years. I enjoy guest preaching as well as facilitating book studies in a small group. Feel free to inquire about my availability.
